Even if Tom and I aren't doing a planned run together it is still easier to go out at the same time as he does. We were able to run our mile warm up together and then his speed work kind of puts me in the dust so I do my own thing. I decided to try a few 1/2 mile repeats after a 2 mile warm up. Plan was 4 in about the 3:45 range with a recovery of the same time. 1. 3:51, (a little too slow) 2. 3:46, (just about right) 3. 3:36, (too fast, very tight right hammie) 4. 3:45, (just right, no tight hammie) I am not really working on speed but I think I will try to do this kind of workout on Wednesdays if it feels right. I need to be careful and keep myself injury free for my 5 marathons of 2012.
