Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

This morning I ran 3 miles with Tom as he warmed up for his turn at the tempo run.  We parted ways at that point.  I kept things easy with an ave. pace of 9:35.  I hardly saw anyone else out this morning.  We did see 5 cute teenage deer right off the side of the road.  Three of them had fuzzy little antlers growing.  They weren't a bit scared as we passed them.  They just watched us pass.

I'm going to buy my marathon shoes today.  I'm really getting excited about things!  Tom and I are hoping to go to St. George for our anniversary next month.  For part of our celebration we want to run the last half of the course so I can have an idea of what I am getting myself into.  It's crazy to think of really running 26.2 miles!  Do you think I will ever want to do it again?  I wonder if I have caught the marathon bug?  I know I have caught it for this one, but I wonder if it will be cured by this or inflamed for more....!?

Sounds like you're doing GREAT with your training!! What a great feeling to be excited about running 26.2! :) I think you'll be hooked after this one... no one cures the marathon bug with just one! :)

Fun! My husband and I ran a half marathon in Vancouver for our 1-year anniversary. Most people thought we were crazy....

I think the marathon bug is an affliction for life! I know very few people who do one and never want to do another one. Consider yourself bitten!

oh yeah, Kim, you will be hooked for life. It is a real lifer FOR SURE!!! We will all be blogging when we are 80 years old and having a ball!!

I know people who run one marathon and are more than happy to stop there.

The rest of us start doing multiple marathons and even ultras.

Leslie - so you are only running until next year when you turn 80?
