Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Stayed in and listened to the rain this morning instead of going out and getting soaked in it.  Tom got some work done at home instead of running so he could get a few extra miles in at work.  I'm glad I waited.  The weather was much more enjoyable to run in when the rain stopped.

I always want to start off faster than I should when it's nippy outside.  I want to get warmed up quick.  I need to remember to keep it a bit slower though, especially after I had a 40 mile week last week.  Right at the end of mile 2 I had to stop and stretch  a bit as I was feeling quite a bit of tightness low in the left calf muscle.  So my first 2 miles were about 9:25 but my last four were all very close to 10:00 each.  It felt much better as I slowed down.  At home I have iced it and it is feeling great at the moment.  I'll have to evaluate it before the hill repeats tomorrow.  I've learned that I want to avoid injury at all costs!

Good job Kimi! Way to be smart about the pace and calf pains. We certainly don't want you getting hurt at this point. Do you think it's the calf or could it be an achilles issue? Either way icing is good!

It's achilles, but I didn't know how to spell it so I wrote calf. It is saying this spelling is wrong too, but, oh well.

Way to go KIm.:)
