Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Ran with Beth this morning.  Things worked out in her favor to be able to go with me, (no kids, no strollers).  It was a little chilly at first, but fortunately our little furnaces got warmed up quickly, (almost too warm during part of it.).  I dropped her off at 4 miles and felt good enough to add two more.  Very exciting.  Next week I need to get a 7 miler in on one of the days.

A note about yesterday.  After I wrestled with myself about getting up earlier so I could get my run in before other things got in the way I went to the school to be a mother helper.  (That is the reason  I couldn't run at  my regular time.)  Well, when I got there it was a substitute teacher and she had no idea what to do with me.  So I came back home  and got a few loads of laundry done.  It was kind of nice to be ready for the day and be able to get a few more things done during that time.  But I just don't think I would stay committed if I had to wake early and go alone in the dark all the time.  What I'm doing right now is working, so I'm not going to mess with it.

I finally got some new shoes.  Wore them yesterday and today and they are feeling great!

Six miles! good job! That should keep Terry on his toes to not let you whomp him on the mileage board!

What you are doing IS definitely working so I wouldn't change a thing. And don't feel rushed to get the 7-miler in, I think you'd be just dandy with the 3-5 milers you've been doing for a couple more weeks. But hey, I guess if your feeling good next week on a run and still peppy after 5 or 6 miles then GO for it!

I really don't need to get my 7 miler in until the week after Thanksgiving. But if I feel good I would like to get it in and stick with it for a few weeks before moving to 8. That way I can probably keep the long run the same amount of miles for a couple weeks in a row before adding one again.

Congratulations on the strength to tack those extra two miles on. I agree with you Kim about going to 7 next week, then plateau until you are up for 8 is a great idea since you are ahead of schedule.

BTW, you have become much more committed to the sport in the short month you have been on the blog. I am excited to see what the next month brings!
