Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Monday's are STINKY!  I say that because it is garbage day here and we have to run past everyone's garbage cans out by the road!  Yuck!  I like when we get down to the riverbottoms and don't have as many garbage cans.  But then we have some skunk smells and some farm smells and some deer smells....  oh well, I guess the smells are part of the whole running experience.  Today we had to watch out not to trip on a rooster.  There were a couple in the road as we passed by.  There were also a couple of adolescent deer who looked like they wanted to join us for our run.

Tom and I warmed up for 1 1/2 miles and then did a 6 mile  tempo run, (my pace not his), then finished up with a 1 1/2 mile cool down.  The average pace for the tempo part was 8:25.

Whew, you're getting fast! Way to go! I can't believe that you guys actually see roosters on your run, how cool! :)

Lauren, that's funny, I was just reading Laszlo's blog and I can't believe you guys see horny-toads and GILA-MONSTERS on your runs! I'll take the roosters! :)

Kim nice job on the tempo run today despite the stink factor! A nice start to the week I thought. Here's to a great Monday!

Hello!! Yes, you are right, it was me that posted. Can you tell that I am new to all of this? I was actually just checking out your blog. You inspire me to get out a little more and increase my speed. I tend to run a little slower during my training runs and then do a little better come race day, but I think I need to start running faster during training runs. You are doing great. I was looking at your race times over the past few months and you are just getting faster and faster. That is great!! I look forward to receiving lots of advise on this site and hopefully becoming a better runner. It is hard to compete with Ty and his running schedule though and especially with little kids at home, so we will have to see how it goes. Thanks for the post, I will be talking to you soon. Have a great day!!

Kellie, when you make a comment sign your name as kellies instead of Kellie S and it should lead people to your blog. Right now it looks like you don't have a blog because the name doesn't match your blog address. Does that make sense? It's just fun for people to be able to click on your name and go to your blog.

Kim, you're doing so well. And, congrats on you awesome 18-miler last week! I'm a little slow this week on blogging and commenting, so that's the reason for the belated comment...

GREAT job on the tempo run!
