Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

It's funny how getting out of bed and starting my run is less enjoyable than the last of 7 miles of a good workout with 6  two minute hill repeats!  Did that make sense?

I am loving these beautiful mornings to run in!  It's kind of sad to think of all those mornings in my life I have been in bed instead of out enjoying what my own two feet can do for me!  I notice things so differently while I am out running.  Kind of like the spirituality discussion going on on the discussion board.  I feel the crisp morning air, (sometimes very hard as the wind slaps us around!).  I hear birds of all kinds, (including peacocks that you can hear all the way across the fields.)  I smell the different flowers as I pass people's well cared for yards, (also a few smells down at the river bottoms that aren't always pleasant.)  I see beautiful mountains, rolling hills, flowers, trees, wildlife, people and a really great husband by my side.  Taste is usually something I enjoy more when I get home rather than on the run.  Sometimes that might be a nice mug of hot chocolate to warm the innards up. But definitely NOT the squid jerky that Camron sent us from Japan yesterday!  Blech!   It all makes me so grateful for all the many blessings I have.

Nicely said Kim! Thanks for helping me to take time and remember to smell the roses (and those 'other' smells), see the sights, and hear the sounds of each run.

Hey you never know, that squid jerky might just have super-duper post-run benefits if you just give it a chance. Those Japanese are pretty fit & healthy I hear!

Thanks, but I don't think I want the post "run" benefits that the squid jerky would likely give! =)

Nice job on your hill workout Kim.
