Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Early morning run with Tom, nice temps, no snow, no wind!  The moon was a tiny sliver coming up over the mountain.  Saw a few others out and about.  We warmed up with 2 miles then Tom did 2 faster miles to my 1 1/2, then we finished up with one to get us home.

When we are out in the dark Tom wears a reflective vest and I wear this really cool head lamp with red lights.  I have fun making it bob around good when cars are coming towards us.  We also found out it is fun to look at cats with it.  Their eyes glow bright red back at us!  One cat gave us a little startle today.  I let out a little delayed reaction scream that may have upset some sleeping residents.  Gotta keep things eventful.

I am excited for Strider's on Saturday.  I think I am more excited for Tom's race than mine.  He is going for a make it or break it race!  He is going to go all out from the beginning and hold on for dear life.  He will either have a great PR or bonk!  I have a feeling it will be it will be a great PR!

As for myself, I am not making any big goals.  I hope to make it respectable, but I have never ran this course so I have no idea how it will be.

Kim whether you have any big goals or not, with your great training and improvement since January I think you'll be looking at a great PR yourself!

Thanks for all the great support!

I agree with Tom--I really think you are going to have a huge PR. Your training has been fantastic! Maybe I'll get to congratulate you on Sunday! Good luck!!!

Good Luck at your race! You will do just fine! I hear ya on animals. I had a dog decided to follow me last night when I was out about 9:30. I kept yelling at it but it kept following.

You are going to PR and have a good time too ... mark my words!!

That is funny about the cats. One time I went to visit a friend of mine and a skunk jumped out of the bushes at me! I told my friend about it and she said, "oh yea that is my neighbor's pet skunk" (it had been deskunked) -- not only did it scare me, I thought for sure I was going to stink for weeks!

Good Luck saturday. Last half it was a double PR from your family. Double again!!

From Brent on Wed, Apr 02, 2008 at 20:59:12

Kim, nice blog today, love those wonders of the run. Not to worry, saturday will just be a gut wrenching, snarly, brutal, crazy, sweaty, never ending day of ? ............................................................................................................................................................................................................... Fun. The best memories come from runs measured by effort, not the clock. No regrets, no fear, you are primed.
