Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Day one of the official marathon training.  Up and at 'em and got 'er done!  Six miles in the mild morning with Coach Tom.  We did what we will refer to as some "Dork Drills"  with the last mile. One of the drills is to run for 20 seconds with our arms out in front of us in a nice ballet form.  The other one is to hop on one foot for 20 hops and then the other one.  These are part of our plan we are following from the book "Brain Training for Runners".   (Can you see why we are calling them "Dork Drills"?)

Just thought I'd mention the chickens we saw crossing the road in front of us during Saturday's run.  As we watched them cross we realized that they really DO just cross the road to get to the other side.   So next time that question is asked, you know!

Just for the record I thought you looked pretty graceful while doing the dork drills.

You weren't so bad yourself! Except next time a car goes past us you can't stop and let me do them alone!

What marathon are you training for?

From Kim on Mon, Apr 21, 2008 at 15:18:25

Paula,

Hopefully for St. George. It all depends on the whether...whether I get in or whether I don't. I'm hoping I get in. If not I plan to do the Top of Utah marathon in September. Are you planning a marathon? Have you ran one before?

Dork Drills are a great way to make the running interesting. Paula and I will need to incorporate those!

I hope you get in SGM! You will be ready to kick booty with your awesome training plan!

Kim, you have gone bonkers, anything to enhance the running fun.

Thanks Kim! My knee seems to be feeling a lot better. It just needed time. I also signed up for the Hurricane Half 5K race. It will be my first race! Dustin thought I was ready for it. We'll have to see!
