Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Today was the group run down Payson Canyon. It was a very nice morning. I'm getting nervous about the cooler temps that will quickly approach us, but today was about perfect in my opinion. It is 11 miles from our drop off point to Pateetneet. Our son, Tyler, woke up early with us to take the gang up the mountain and bring the van back down. Then he had to wait there until we got down. "Thank you very much Tyler! I know your sleep in days are very few before school starts next week! We all appreciate your help. And I'm glad you traveled down the canyon safely!"

I ran with Beth E. until mile 8 where I needed to visit the little girl's bushes. So the last 3 were on my own until I met Tom in the last mile as he had turned back to meet me. I had forgot to grab my garmin so I am waiting for Beth to send me our pace for the 8 miles.

Update:  Beth just emailed me the splits for the 8 miles I was with her.

Nice run Kim and Tom! good thing there were bushes there huh!? When I ran Bear Lake half marathon there was 18" field grass for everyone to try and hide themselves in. It was a very interesting site! I can only imagine what the farmer who looked out his window was thinking!

Holy schmoly Kim I didn't realize you guys were bookin' down that mountain so stinkin' fast!!! No wonders it seemed like you came in sooner than I was expecting, you were right on our tails.

I'm especially impressed with that last 7:07 on mile 8 where things flatten out for most of the mile.

Now if you STILL tell me in the morning that you're not even sore I'll be a little bugged!

Holy speedy fast! Those splits ROCK!

Welcome to the fast running blog! You are official. She's gonna bust a record I can feel it!

From Kim on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 18:42:36

Thank you all of you! But remember, these are down hill! I haven't had those splits on flat YET! But I do have to say it is quite fun to see those low 7s in there!

From Kelli on Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 18:43:04

Holy Speedy Gonzales fast! That was the thought that came to my mind when I read your splits. Then, I read everyone else's comments and it kind of took my thunder---since they all said holy something or other! ANYWAY, awesome job!!

I went for a walk Monday night and actually saw a few "falling stars". I was not dedicated enough to get up at 3, but I did see a little. It was COOL.

Those are SMOKIN' times, Kim!!! But, I, like Tom, am dying to know if you're still not going to be sore tomorrow. When I ran downhill a few weeks ago, I could hardly walk normally the next day. ha!!

From Christi on Thu, Aug 14, 2008 at 00:12:06

Laura beat me to it, I was going to say "Smoking Fast Splits!" (downhill or not) SGM here you come!

From Terry on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 14:34:39

Wow! Watch out Tom, Kim is getting faster and faster.

From Tom on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 14:43:51

I know Terry...used to be she was typically 2 minutes behind me in pace, then 1 1/2, but on this run she was less than a minute! And I had thought I worked pretty hard on this run but now I wonder if I was a slacker.

I'll credit it to the fine coaching she is receiving :)

From Kim on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 14:51:05

I DO have a pretty great coach! I'll have to make sure to

I DO have a pretty great coach!

From Kim on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 14:51:53

Ooops...that was weird!

From Tom on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 14:57:31

That was kinda weird. But I'm dying to know what you'll "have to make sure to" do.

Make sure to what????? Make sure to take me out to dinner? Make sure to share all the running booty you're going to win with me? Make sure to give me a back rub?
