Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

I ran 18 miles today! Woohoo!

This was my first 18 miler EVER! I felt better at the end of today's run than when I ran my first 16 miler a few weeks ago. Tom was just running a couple today in preparation for tomorrow's 1/2 marathon. So I got out at 5:00 and met Kay. We ran about 6 1/2 together before she had to go. I went a few alone and then picked up Tom for his 2. Then I was off for the rest myself. I wasn't sure what I would do today. I was planning on 12 -16 but I was just feeling it today and decided that I would get my first 18 in this week instead of next week. At about 15 1/2 Beth E. joined in with me for a little less than a mile. It was fun to have a few people to run with along the way.  Tomorrow I will just get a few gentle miles in as I watch Tom and lots of other friends do the Provo River 1/2.

Tom and I get to go to lunch with another friend that our son has met in Japan.  He is here in Utah for a few days.  We look forward to meeting him.  And I think I'm gonna be HUNGRY for lunch!  So Coach Tom, don't be picking anything off of my plate, I want it ALL today!

I am just so excited about today's run!  I hope the rest of you had a great run today, or I hope you can live vicariously through my runner's high I've got going!

YOWZA!!! Congrats on you new all-time-high mileage day! Sounds like you had (and still have) a huge runner high thing going for you. I'm so jealous! Hey keep that high going and maybe some of your endorphines will waft over my way for the race.

Lunch should be fun, we'll show Noboyuki-san how those American women can really chow down a hearty meal!!!

BTW I notice you rule me on the mileage board! Almost 47 miles! Coach Tom says for tomorrow just take it easy and go no more than 3 or 4 gentle miles.

Huge congratulations, that first 18 miler is huge, you are on fire! Is your coach taking new students?

Kim you crazy woman you! You stunned me on that turn! If you wouldnt have bumped into me at the finish I would have wondered who that was forever. Hey did you guys know I have a Japanese foreign exchange student with us for the next week!? Shes from Osaka and she's 15 years old. I wish I could talk to her. Anyways, good to finally meet you and Tom in person and keep him busy running, He'll get those goals!

From marion on Sat, Aug 09, 2008 at 14:22:30

Cool run! You are just smokin' hot!! WOW!!! :)

From Kim on Sat, Aug 09, 2008 at 15:28:29

Hey Walter, If you need some help figuring out what the heck your foreign exchange student is saying, ask Tom! He can help you out! Have fun with her here! Tell her Konichiwa from me!

From Kelli on Sat, Aug 09, 2008 at 16:39:53

18 miles!!! WOW! I have actually never done it! I ran a marathon last year, but my training capped out 16 (it was supposed to be an 18 miler, but I QUIT!) It was one thing in a race, and another thing altogether on your own. GOOD JOB!

From walter on Sun, Aug 10, 2008 at 12:53:00

Kim I have a friend that went on a mission to Japan and we went to diner at Gecco's last night (it was my wifes idea to shock her I guess) and he had fun talking to her and it kind of opened her up a bit because she's been in a shell here at our house. My girls have been so good to her.
