It was hard starting out, as my lower back was still pretty tender and I couldn't stand up quite straight. The bouncing intially caused some sharp pains that forced me to alter my gait somewhat. It felt great to be out running again on a sunny fall day and gradually the aches and pains began to fade and I was able to go from about a 9:00 minute pace to 8:30. Towards the end of my short run I started to have some bowel discomfort, but I was just happy to have gotten out.

Starting out my back was still a bit sore and my form sort of resembled the last mile or two of a bad marathon (hunched over, shuffling). But things gradually loosened up and I was soon running fairly smoothly. I even managed to pick the pace up heading back along the trail. I'm optimistic that I'll be able to handle the five mile loop in a day or two.

Had a good run this morning. Ran the adventure park loop with Laureen and then took off so that I could get home in time to help my daughter get off to school. Pushed it the last mile and felt great. No back pains or congestion to speak of. I was happy to find that I could run at a good speed without any problems.

Another beautiful fall morning (temperature around 30 with the sun just coming up). Ran down the adventure park road but didn't loop around the pond as Laureen and I had to get back earlier. Felt a little more congestion today and woke up coughing, but it doesn't seem to be a problem now.

Routine run around the adventure park. Picked up the pace after the loop around the pond and then pushed it the last mile and a quarter.

Went for a run with Laureen. We ran around the golf course to the mouth of American Fork Canyon. As we ran up the hill and started along the dirt trail it started to rain lighty. The further we ran, the harder it rained so we started looking for a way down. By the time we got down to the canal road it had pretty much stopped. We were pretty well drenched, but surprisingly, it wasn't too cold.
