Ran the loop around the adventure park lake just as the sun was starting to hit the water. Kind of cool to start out, but was very comfortable after a mile or so. Pushed it fairly hard the whole way as I wanted to run it all at sub-marathon pace. After a one mile warmup at 7:45 pace, maintained 7:20 to 7:30 pace (managed 6:20 or so on the downhill sections and 7:50 on the uphill). Felt good. No aches or pains to speak of.

I just couldn't resist commenting on your entries for yesterday and today. Yesterday you said that you sometimes doubt your abilities, and today you log a training run that reflects what great condition you are in. I've seen comments from others on your blog that confirm what I firmly believe, that you have trained so well that a 3:35 is well within your reach. There is no such thing as an easy marathon, but I honestly think the only thing you have to worry about is worrying about things too much. I think somehow you just need to tune out the negative self talk (that we all have) and just relax and enjoy the run. You are so ready.

Paul is right about worrying. Worry is the worst thing you can do during taper. Increased adrenaline levels interfere with the accumulation of glycogen. So if you worry throughout your taper, you run the race essentially un- or undertapered. That is one reason I like to run a mile every day at marathon pace during the taper - it gives me the reassurance that I am in good shape.
