Long-Term Running Goals:

I love to run!  I want to feel good and run for a very long time.

Personal:

My husband Brent and I live in Orem with our three kids ages 12, 10 & 7.  Brent is a Marriage and Family Therapist and I'm at home with the kids.  I used to be a CPA, but now I just do a little bookkeeping from home.  For a lot of years running a marathon was something I did to get back in shape after having a baby.  Just finishing was accomplishment enough, now I want to finish faster.

I ran the St. George Marathon in 3:18 when I was 18 and set a record for my age division 15-18.  Now I train with the girl who broke my record.  I love the marathon and half marathon.   Long runs are what keep me from going crazy.

8 miles along Univ Ave towards Provo.  This was my fast day.  I was breathing pretty hard, but felt a little better than when I did this same run last week.  Avg 6:43.

Yea. It was a great run. I didn't do anything Wed, so I was rested, but this morning I was exhausted doing 7:25 pace. It takes me a while to recover. I think it's because I'm gettig closer and closer to the dreaded "Master's Division."

I'm getting there, too. Now off to do some internet stalking to find out how old you really are...

37? I never would have guessed we're the same age.

From julieesplin on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 15:22:03 from 75.169.171.160

Wow that was fast, and yes you're right. Although now I wonder how old you thought I was.

At the starting line of Top of Utah someone said, "He's getting old, he's like 37" and I said, "I'm 37!" Then at the finish line a woman asked me if I was the Masters Division winner. So I went up to the guy that was supposidly 37 and asked how old he was, 37. When I said, we were the same age he said, "I thought you were older than me." He did think I was someone else entirely at first who is older, but still!

Well, I won't be 37 'til Dec. 3rd, but still. You look like you're in your early 30's. and you run like it, too.

Hey watch it I am 41 and I am starting to run like it. I should like to run like an estrogen bunny-- for example Mel and Kim and JULIE. But no such luck it is all downhill from here so keep up the great work Julie. You run incredibly fast. Although I do think you deserve some slower paces some days. : D
