It's been a good week for me of training so far. Going to shoot for a decent long run tomorrow to end the week.

Nice running with you guys. I actually computed all of that stuff on BCC and posted it on Adam's wall, if you're curious. The downhill is more plentiful than I thought, enough to still make it substantially aided (1 second shy of 3 minutes for 3:00:00 marathoner), but this is all based on aerobic conversions. Factoring leg strength, which is much more variable, based on the individual, and therefore something I can't put a number on as easily, I think St George ought to be faster for the vast majority of people. Looking at your Boston splits, I think you were worth at least a 3:01 that day, probably even 2:59 with perfect pacing, and Boston is usually a slow course for most people, so I think you could've been worth even 2:57 that day on a truly fast course like Chicago. I think you should very much be capable of getting the 2:49 at St George if you train right and get in a lot of tempo work (I think stuff like 60 minutes at half marathon effort will be ideal for you). See you Monday.
