My only goal for today was to feel good through out the race and that meant I need to start easier than I have been doing in half. I am happy to report I meet my goal and felt great the whole way. Started just under a 7 pace and felt like I ran a pretty even effort race, I felt like I was really holding back the first 5-6 miles. I did pick it up for a couple miles in the middle but didn't feel like that put me under. I do wish I would have broken 1:30 but i am happy with my result. Last time I ran hobble I did a 1:31 and still ran a 3:12 marathon so I really feel a sub 3:20 is doable. warmed up 1 mile splits 1-6:59 2-6:58 3-6:54 4-6:51 5-6:56 nice comfortable pace and feel like I am really holding back 6-6:45 decide to run alittle faster on this one 7-7:12 climb out of the golf course passing people 8-6:50 9-7:02 10-7:08 feel good and passing on the uphill portion, 11-7:08 still passing and feeling good, I love feeling good and the end of a half 12-7:00 still feeling good and passing 13-7:18 Getting hot and I am falling apart just a little but almost there. .1-6:42 pace finished with the intention of doing a 2 mile cool down but Marie was feeling really bad and need some support and I needed to get home so not cool down. |
