Spent Thursday through Sunday in Charlotte with my wife as my parents watched our kids. Enjoyed the Whitewater Center (rafted twice, and have the bruises to prove it), Aladdin, a comedy show (I had never heard of Preacher Lawson before but he was one of them and was hilarious- easy to see why he was a finalist on America's Got Talent... though, as he said, he lost to a 12 year old ventriliquist), Billy Graham Library, and enjoyed the NASCAR hall of fame a lot more than expected. I even won the NASCAR simulator race my last time. Now back to the grind.
My middle school daughter had her last cross country race of the season. She ran pretty well. Her team got 3rd, and the boys won conference. It's fun to cheer for them and watch them run.

| AM first run in a week. Wasn't sure how my quad and knee would do, so first ran 2 miles on GE track. Slow but felt ok, so did 2 miles on the GE trail. Saw 2 deer.
97 degree high today. Tomorrow is 98. That's 20 deg above normal, and 5 deg above record highs from the 1930's. Isn't it supposed to be fall already?

| AM humid day, very sweaty run. Felt ok, wasn't moving too slow- 8:15 or so. 4 miles, 2 turkeys, 1 deer. Plus weights. High is 98 deg today, which will set all time October temperature record in Greenville by 5 degrees. Old high was from 1884.

| Lunch- 95 deg and sunny for frisbee (on a related note, the high tomorrow will be 69 deg. That's a big difference around here). 11 people. My team went up 1-0, then someone from the other team left and I swapped teams. Were down 1-4, fought back to 3-4, but then lost. I don't think I had any bad throws or drops, but could have done better on defense and the other team was pretty good.
