Best piece of literature you'll read this week: How Far Did Rocky Go in His Training Run in ‘Rocky II’? This is a simply fantastic blog post. Thank you, internet.

Great job this morning!!

Huh?

From Jake K on Wed, Sep 18, 2013 at 09:57:20 from 67.177.11.154

I only got 10 hours of sleep, so I couldn't risk running.

From Rachelle on Wed, Sep 18, 2013 at 10:03:38 from 199.190.170.22

Nice! Whoa...I just read your sidebar. I didn't know you were running TOU. Very exciting Jake.

I might have to come up and jump in on the 5k just to cheer everyone on and feel that nostalgia I'm so craving.

From Brandon on Wed, Sep 18, 2013 at 10:23:37 from 67.214.231.170

Best am workout ever :)

From Jake K on Wed, Sep 18, 2013 at 10:25:32 from 67.177.11.154

I just updated it with the best ARTICLE ever.

From Brandon on Wed, Sep 18, 2013 at 10:34:18 from 67.214.231.170

Oh that's fantastic :)! Thanks for sharing. I always knew there had to be a secret to his success.

From Jake K on Wed, Sep 18, 2013 at 10:38:07 from 67.177.11.154

You had to figure he was doing 30+ mile runs. How else would he have the endurance to do like 7 more sequels? (Other than massive amounts of PEDs)

From Rob on Wed, Sep 18, 2013 at 10:41:56 from 63.235.131.194

Yeah, so. Then what did he do for his afternoon workout? I hope he threw out those sweat pants.

From Jason D on Wed, Sep 18, 2013 at 11:52:37 from 128.210.82.162

Good to see the resting trend, even though I like the usual Coach Krong theory of mornings off: "I don't care if your leg is cut off. You get the morning off. To fashion a wooden one. So be ready for your afternoon run."

From Brandon on Wed, Sep 18, 2013 at 16:17:57 from 67.214.231.170

Don't forget the pre-run glass full of raw eggs :)!

From DaleG on Wed, Sep 18, 2013 at 19:37:54 from 152.216.11.5

Very entertaining!!!

From Amiee on Wed, Sep 18, 2013 at 19:57:19 from 166.70.240.95

Massage?!? From the creeper that watches you run?

From Jake K on Wed, Sep 18, 2013 at 19:58:56 from 67.177.11.154

No, I decided I didn't trust that guy.

From Fritz on Wed, Sep 18, 2013 at 20:15:20 from 67.177.4.64

I knew Rocky was tough. I bet he ran 50 miles in Rocky IV when he climbed that mountain in the snow. This guy's next blog post needs to figure out his pace.

From Jon on Thu, Sep 19, 2013 at 14:47:40 from 107.203.52.135

I'm disappointed he didn't add .5 miles to get to a 50k.

From Cam on Thu, Sep 19, 2013 at 16:15:52 from 128.187.97.20

what Jon said. It would have been more than 50k if Rock had a 310xt

From Rob Murphy on Thu, Sep 19, 2013 at 18:59:43 from 24.10.249.165

He made it a fartlek too with some steeple training thrown in as well. Bases on his turnover in many of the scenes I'd say he averaged about 4:50 pace.

Someday I'll do a long post about when my dad and me went to see Rocky (the first one) at the Orange 6 Theaters when I was eleven. On of the happiest memories of my life.

From Jake K on Thu, Sep 19, 2013 at 19:25:26 from 67.177.11.154

Do you think you were happier than Rocky and Apollo on the beach at the end of the Rocky III montage?...

http://goo.gl/y4gbj5

If he was wearing a Garmin I'm sure he would have gotten like 34 miles.

From Rob Murphy on Thu, Sep 19, 2013 at 19:42:24 from 24.10.249.165

They were REALLY happy.

That didn't take long!

Running 31 miles through Philly without getting shot should earn you a belt buckle.
