AM - 5 miles. Horsepark loop w/ Andrea.

PM - 5 miles w/ Andrea (bike).

I got some spikes, so assuming I feel decent in the morning, I guess I'm running some XC tomorrow... first time since 2003! Not really ready for an all-out race effort again yet... my plan is to run sans-watch and go out at the very back, make it a progressive effort / workout.

Made a little San Juans highlights slideshow here.

Absolutely amazing pictures. So glad you guys had a great trip and got some solid high altitude training in too. :)

Cross country is awesome! Fast, tempo, or slow.

If you are running at Murray Park, you might be better off wearing flats. There's tons of cement in the course. This is not a good spikes course.

Oh, and working up is a good plan, but the course is very narrow in certain spots and it will be difficult to pass. Of course, you won't be running with 500 jv runners, so I'm sure you will be just fine.

Thanks Emily... I was just looking at the course map, and it seemed like too much asphalt to make spikes useful. I'll just take 'em out.

I can't run a 26 second 200m like everyone does in XC to start :-)
