AM - 12 miles. Horsepark.

PM - 4 miles.

Running the Saltair 1/2 tomorrow as one of my last bigger workouts before CIM. Aiming for ~1:10, assuming the weather is slightly better than it was out there for all of the winter series races earlier this year.

Did you see that Ward finished 4th today? Not bad for missing the season.

He was training... running 2:16 at Chicago is probably more impressive than a high 29s 10K, even at altitude.

Plus he's like 7 years older than everyone else :-)

I think its amazing how close 2nd to 50th place are... its like 50 guys within 30 seconds!

Yeah, everyone knew he would still be in great shape. Plus he had a mustache for the weather.

It is crazy how close they all are.

A good mustache is a huge advantage in XC. And for Anchorman 2 premier parties.

I was there. The race for 3rd was crazy awesome! Like 8-10 dudes within one second with 200 meters to go. The race went out very slow and I think that factored into the tight spread.

Good run by Ward so soon after Chicago, and awesome domination by Kennedy Kithuka, but I think Ben Saarel is the real story of the day there. Finishing 1.2 seconds out of 3rd against such a stacked field as a true frosh is super impressive.

Also, what is Ed Eyestone smoking by saying that they'd have a chance at winning a championship with Ward back? NAU and Colorado both absolutely annihilated them.

BYU was resting three or four of their top seven guys yesterday. Not sure exactly why, but their goal going in yesterday was a 4th place finish - knowing they had enough at-large points to easily make it in to the NCAA field.

Great week of running, Jake!! Very impressive!
