AM - 5.5 miles. First 2.5 easy, then ran the Home Depot mile in 5:19, couple minutes easy, then a 1/4 mile in 76 seconds. Long sleeve + gloves for the first time in a long time.
PM - 2.5 miles. Easy shakeout w/ Andrea on the blades, as usual.

Very impressed with the self control this week Jake! This mornings weather was actually good to get used to what TOU is going to feel like. It takes the legs (for me at least) quite a bit longer to get going in colder temps.

Nice job. Can't wait to read all about your race on Saturday. I thought I was running it, but they can't find my registration form I sent with a money order back in July. Oh well.

Thanks Dale - I thought you were running St George?
Rachelle - Can you believe I'm not doing anything stupid this week? :-)

Yep, I'm running St George. I wanted to run/walk top of utah just to get a nice long training run. The last time I Did that, I got a PR at St George.

Good luck this weekend. Remember, the hill at mile 24.5 on main street isn't as big as it looks.

Thanks Jon. I've actually never even seen the last 4 miles of the course. Gonna have to drive it on the way up tomorrow.

allie - the taper patrol is already trying to get jurisdiction to be the REVERSE-TAPER / RECOVERY patrol! The battles I have to deal with are exhausting!! :-)

I decided to withdrawal my taper patrol from Wed-Sat so that I could have RECOVERY/reverse-taper patrol for at least 4 days!

I forgot about that hill near the end. Definitely not a good place for a hill.

LOL. my "i highly suggest you avoid running marathons right now" patrol is not working.
the hill isn't bad. really. especially if you have your cheering squad stationed there. it's like one of the less dramatic bumps in sugarhouse park.

That'll be a good spot for a flaming moose

Allie - I must be more controlling than you...I would've already called the cardiologist and made him say no marathons before the appointment :)

are there really any BAD spots for a flaming moose?
good luck this weekend!
