AM - 18 miles.  Ran 12 on the Jordan River trail w/ Andrea, Allie, Devra, Emily J, Adam, Rob, and James... then I ran home from there. Another beautiful "shorts weather" morning. Felt very good today.

First run in the Saucony Mirage shoes... really like them. This is finally a viable replacement for the Tangent, and something I can alternate w/ my Kinvaras when I want something with a bit more support.

I'll probably just do an easy 200 miles later this afternoon to get 6000 for the year :-)

PM - 4 miles shakeout. I decided that was a better idea.

Here's some recommended reading for the weekend - Runner's World article on Desi Davila

I would guess even for you it would probably be a good idea to get started on your afternoon run now.

Nice meeting you this morning.

Congrats on a great year! Thanks for taking the time to put together runs and "races" as well as sharing your thoughts on life and running. I have appreciated it immensely.

5800 for the year? That's nuts, and a huge FRB record!

From Jake K on Sat, Dec 31, 2011 at 17:41:50 from 67.177.21.60

Thanks guys.

Jon, I think my best year before this year was probably ~3000-3500 miles, so this was a big leap. Its cool that I am stronger, not broken down, after all of this.

Great year Jake! It's been fun watching you and Andrea give us two hard workers to root for and also inspired me and others to bump up our game. Happy New Year!

And thanks for all of the reading suggestions, too.

Jake, Thanks for prodding me out the door this morning. It was a great run. You have been a great addition to the blog and thank you for organizing these runs and the races earlier... I hope 2012 brings you everything you dream of.
