AM - 17 miles on the Jeremy Ranch road. This is probably my favorite place in Utah to run... love it up there. There's no better place to build strength. Its just rolling hills the whole way, and since you drop about 450 feet on the way out without really realizing it, the return trip to the cars is extra fun! Andrea and I met James, Kevin, Chad, and Mark and we got started at 9am - it was surprisingly warm by that point. We had a great run - out to the end of the dirt road and then another mile or so to East Canyon Reservoir, then back. Saw a moose a few miles into the run! Casual pace for the first 16, then I ran the last mile faster (5:03), which is actually pretty good considering its an uphill mile at 6300 feet and was into a headwind.

Another lesson learned today - don't start doing all the variations of the Arrested Development Chicken Dances while running uphill at altitude. You'll loose your breath, guaranteed! :-)

Then we went to Ruth's and got some big omelets. Fantastic day. We'll be repeating this one next Saturday for sure.

PM - 4.5 miles, horsepark loop.

Nice run. I have to join you up there someday soon.

Yeah I am definitely looking forward to lots of midweek runs @ Alta and weekends in Park City for the next couple months.

Now that I have seen the video, Kevin did a pretty good impression! But laughing and running uphill are not a good combo!

Everyone knows the chicken dance is an anaerobic monster. I almost hit 5:03 pace today in my car, driving home...

Arrested development rocks! Anybody who doesn't try that during their next run is chachachachickennnn!

Is Ruth's anything like Beth's Cafe in Seattle? They have a 12 egg omelette that comes with all-you-can-eat hashbrowns. Mmmm, perfect after a long run :)

Looks like a lot of fun. I would have preferred to be there but I figured there will be many more opportunities and I didn't want to get too excited a week before Ogden. are you guys running tomorrow am?

Sounds like such a fun morning. I will definitely have to come up one of these weekends and join in on the chicken dance. :)

Fritz I think we're just going to do a token shakeout whenever we wake up and then head up to Alta for the day. Andrea is only planning to run a couple easy miles tomorrow and I'm trying to keep the volume down too.

From Fritz on Sat, May 12, 2012 at 20:06:56 from 67.182.226.25

Have fun on the slopes. "Trying" to keep miles down sounds like an oxymoron. :)

Not all runs are created equal! Nice workout!

Sounds like a great place to run. I would love to join you guys sometime. We did not see a Moose our our Highland/Alpin run this morning :-) I'm a little jealous.

I guess I will have to dust off my mountain bike for next weekend. Hope you're having an awesome day skiing!
