The USATF meeting is going on right now in Florida. Of major interest is obviously the new Olympic Trials standards. Rumor has it that the Men's "B" standard is coming back, but its going to be faster than the "A" standard has ever been. Probably 2:15 / 2:18 for the guys, 2:37 / 2:43 for the ladies. We'll see...

... and its confirmed:

Men's A = 2:15  B = 2:18, 1:05

Women's A = 2:37  B = 2:43, 1:15

Qualifying window opens August 2013. Game on.

Going to be a huge challenge!

They raised the bar after 2007 and it looks like its going up another notch. I like it. Athletes will respond to the challenge.

Two year plan for 2:42:59 is in the making...

If I were you I'd be feeling pretty good about those standards. Especially that 1:05. That's right there for you. Pretty cool to have that within your reach!

I'd be very surprised if NYC doesn't get the trials again - considering the proposed times and qualifying window... they seem tailored to what NYRR would want.

I don't think it matters what they lower it to. I am sure you will have no problem hitting it no matter how low it goes!
