AM - 10 miles. 3 up w/ 4x200m. Lazy AT Tempo: 8K in 26:12 on the track (5:16/mi avg). 2 down. Wasn't feeling super motivated this morning, and this was essentially half of the workout I had planned... it was going to be 5K @ MP and then 4-6 x 800 @ 5K pace. The set of 200s told me that wasn't happening today. I took 2K splits instead of 1600s because I was too lazy to hit my watch at the first mile - they were 6:33, 6:33, 6:34, 6:31. Oh well, at least I was going faster than the Westminister girls running 1K reps. What a silver lining.

PM - 5 miles at the horsepark. 100% soft surfaces today.

haha glad I'm not the only one that has "lazy days". Good job at listenning to your body and modifying the workout.

They would have been 800s at 5:16 pace :-)

We've all been there (especially me). You know your stuff, and I'm sure that was the right call.

Your 2k tempo splits look like my mile AT splits. Now I just gotta figure out how to squeeze in an entire extra lap in the same amount of time without expending any additional energy. Compression socks?

Shaved legs. Less wind resistance.

Short track helps too. I want to race on that 380 meter track at Stanford where everyone runs PRs :-)

Shaved legs....I knew that was it! Maybe one of those aerodynamic helmets like the cyclists have too. I'll save that for races though.

next time you need to visualize yourself competing in the DMR.

Already tapering for it

From allie on Thu, Apr 04, 2013 at 15:30:12 from 97.117.87.221

i forgot to mention -- i ran through a xfit workout yesterday and a guy sprinted past me wearing a shirt that said "running sucks".

From Jake K on Thu, Apr 04, 2013 at 15:33:22 from 155.100.226.191

Yeah that's the guy I'm recruiting to run the anchor leg for my DMR team at the SH Relays.

I knew it. I thought that track was short at stanford:)

From Jake K on Thu, Apr 04, 2013 at 16:17:01 from 155.100.226.191

Its either short, or downhill.
