Nice perspective and nice run. You will make some "luck" and "magic" next go around.

Conditions were definitely perfect for good times yesterday. I would have pictured you with the five or so guys with 2:18s who were bunched up in a pack and passed me at mile 22. No reason to dwell on it though. You will have that time under your belt in no time and if the window is the same as these Olympics you will only need to wait until 1/1/14 to give it a go again.

Yeah I told Andrea yesterday that as soon as the window opens up again, I'm running the first weekend, whatever race starts the earliest in the morning, so I have the absolute first shot possible! :-)

I'm hoping we can do some more running together in the upcoming year. I think it would be really good and beneficial for both of us.

I know I could benefit a ton and hopefully you could too (or at least a little). I have always neglected speedwork and tempo runs partly because they are tough to do alone. Plus long runs are also more enjoyable to do with a group. I think it's great that you and Andrea are already getting people together. In a week or so I will look out for your group runs and join in for sure.

On another topic, I had a long conversation with a woman triathlete/runner from LA yesterday at the airport. We were talking about compression socks and she mentioned that wearing these tights at night has made a world of difference. Have you heard of them? She says she only wears them at night and not for training. Interesting idea.

Yeah, Saucony makes something similar - a "recovery" tight. I am usually pretty skeptical about that kind of stuff, but we both have them, and I truly think they help. I actually think they are really comfortable to sleep in as well.
