Short-Term Running Goals:

Run on trails as much as I can.

Not get injured and stay consistent with my training.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Complete a 50 and 100 mile ultra.

Qualify for Boston... missed it by 8 seconds previously

Run one of those rediculously aided Utah half-marathons helter skelter down a canyon and get a PR.

Personal:

Married with three boys. Ran the Odgen Marathon in honor of my mother, a marathoner, who passed away from cancer and it just had continued from there. Grew up in a running family and have fallen in love with running, especially on trails.

Well last week did not go as I had planned running wise.  I sunburned my feet at the beach on Wed. and was pretty much chickened out after that.  I bathed them in aloe and they are doing fine now.  I did get a lot of surfing time in so at least I got exercise.

I went for a trail run from the house this morning.  Beautiful morning for a run, hopefully I can get in a few more miles this afternoon.

PM: Went from the house to finish up with 10 miles today.  Down to the canal trail then up the dirt road then back home.  Needed to get rid of some internal frustration. AP 7:36

Pretty nice run this morning.  Headed out up SR73 towards the ranches.  Went to the 4 way stop and turned around and went back the way I came.  I am beginning to like this run.  The 2 mile hill is great to hit up and on the way back also.

AP for the run 8:05.

5 easy recovery miles around the hood.  I got a 12 mile run with a 6 mile tempo mixed in scheduled for the morning.  We'll see how the legs do tomorrow.

Had a great run this morning.  Really needed a confidence booster, started at the Iron Bridge and headed south on the JRP, 2 mile warm up 8:41,8:33, then 6 mile tempo run: 6:56,6:50,6:44,6:43,6:48,6:40. Three mile cool down 8:01,7:52,7:48.  My cool down miles felt like I was running about a 9 min. pace.

Trail run/hike on the face of Timp.  We started at the end of the Timpanookee trail head and went south up past baldy.  Beautiful country.  I was planning on getting in some extra miles in the afternoon but was not able to get back out.
