Not get injured and stay consistent with my training.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Complete a 50 and 100 mile ultra.

Qualify for Boston... missed it by 8 seconds previously

Run one of those rediculously aided Utah half-marathons helter skelter down a canyon and get a PR.

Personal:

Married with three boys. Ran the Odgen Marathon in honor of my mother, a marathoner, who passed away from cancer and it just had continued from there. Grew up in a running family and have fallen in love with running, especially on trails.

Yep, no runs last week, my wife went to visit family for the week so I was left with the boys, we had fun hiking, fishing, and other adventures but no runs for me.  Don't know how the single parents do it.

Tried a new trail this morning, finally some single trail again.  Went up the second left had fork trail.  Enjoyed my time going up, 1981 feet of elevation in the first 2.25 miles.  Saw elk and deer and spent more time checking out the views then hitting it very hard.

I really need to sign up for a race to keep my motiviation to train up...

I was planning on hitting some new trails this morning in the hills, quads were sore, and felt a little tightness in my right achilles, so I decided to run flat and hit it tomorrow.  Did the country loop south of town, half on dirt roads.  Good effort this morning, I am glad I decided to run it.  AP 7:33 elevation gain 95ft.

Beautiful run this morning, tried a new trail, started in Richfield and went up the dirt trail/road by the water towers, 096 trail. Fairly runable at least I didn't have to walk any. Felt bad scared two ladies early in the morning enjoying their walk up the canyon. I gave them a warning but they still screamed and jumped. Actually had me laughing most of the run.  Solid effort, 9:45 pace with 1,827 ft. of elevation gain, had fun flying down the mountain the last bit keeping the pace in the 5's.

It feels like my legs are coming back...

Went from the casa up to the hills, tried to find a strava track up there but took a wrong turn, ended up bushwacking up the hill, kind of fun, climbing and exploring around the rocks, saw the correct route at the top.  I will have to hit the right trail another day.  Good time shaking the legs out and exploring... elevation gain 769 ft

First 20 miler since the Utah Valley Marathon last June.  Hit the paved trail that heads up Marysville canyon past the Big Rock Candy Mountain.  Didn't know how the legs would respond but I guess all the trail running I've been doing helped, 691 ft of elevation mostly in the first 10 miles, as you climb up the canyon.  AP 8:10

I was worried about 11-12 miles in how my legs would be feeling, but hit a second wind the last few miles and got some quicker miles in at the end once I knew I wouldn't be causing any harm.  Nice trail, reminds me of the Provo river trail...
