Trail run with son ... we tried in morning but torrential rains guided us to IHOP, but we got the run in at lunch. He is doing his first trail race this weekend, only 2.5 miles, I will run with him, then push harder on loop 2 for the 5 miler. We need the rain ... trail was a nice soft running surface!

Can't ever go wrong with IHOP, my son loves the chocolate chip pancakes! Last year he hated running, this year I was pleasantly surprised when he decided to run cross country this fall as a Freshman, and he seems to be enjoying it! He is actually going to an overnight cross country camp next week, which will probably either make him love it or hate it! lol Should be a good experience, he will be rooming with a friend he used to play soccer with & is also doing cross country this fall. If he sticks with it, I have a feeling he will be pushing me on track workouts in a year, as he is not that far behind now ... I definitely look forward to that!
