11 mile loop on Garmin - 9 miles running. Decided I would feel good this run ... could run fast, slow, or walk ... whenever I wanted for however long I wanted! Couple MP miles early, then interspersed walking & jogging. Really just a reflection time, found out this afternoon my mom was diagnosed with acute leukemia, will know more after full lab results in next day or two.

Ah JG, I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. Hopefully the lab results will show that it is treatable. I'll be praying for your Mom and you!

Guys, thank you for all your thoughts & prayers, there will be some emotional days ahead! My parents are very strong people! 20 years ago my Dad was diagnosed with chronic leukemia & told he could live 2 years or 20 ... he played golf last week & shot a 91 with a birdie! My mom has been steadfast by his side, through two bouts of breast cancer & diabetes ... and now this. Acute leukemia is much more aggressive & less treatable than chronic, but they discovered it in the early stages. They have the doctors blessing to proceed on their trip to Vermont for their 55th anniversary in two weeks & then she will go to John Hopkins University to see their specialists (where my dad also goes), and get a second opinion on how to best proceed with treatments. We will all deal with it the best we can, and hope for the best!
