After 70 miles in 7 days, I have decided to give myself a full day of rest, probably will bike some and maybe a couple light miles this evening.  I am a little concerned about high mileage injuries, and don't really like mileage goals, as a result ... but know increasing my mileage is what I need to do for a strong fall marathon!  I should be excited to run, as my next run will put me over 1,000 miles for the year ... this is a big milestone for me... considering it is a 50% leap over my previous high mileage, last year. ... and there are still 5 months to go! My goal in January was consistency, with a minimum 30 mpw .. for the most part I have accomplished that over the last 7 months.  Would be nice if I could put together (2) 200 mile months to get ready for October, that is my goal, if my legs can handle it without being in a constant state of soreness!

9 PM - Severe thunderstorms all night, cleared just as sun was set.  Stepped outside & it had plummeted to 70 degrees, so I threw on my shoes & got a quick 3 in as darkness set in!  Felt good   7:32, 7:16, 7:19

great mileage last week!

funny - I am curious how a "full day of rest" can include some biking and a couple light miles...

Haha ... yes ... I am having an internal battle going on! I ran an easy 4 yesterday, which was going to be my day of rest ... but felt this morning like perhaps a little more was in order!

Nice, definitely time for a day off, even if it's by a different definition. I think you could easily hit 200 mile months. The constant state of tiredness is probably par for the course!

Yeah JG - with doubles along with increasingly longer weekend long runs, you should easily hit 200+ per month.

Good running JG...You don't want to get in the rut that I'm in :-(

Wow....I'd say nice miles this week! I don't think I have ever run that many miles in a week! I need to get my motivation going since I have a marathon in Oct too. I just am not into it right now. :( Wish I could have some of your dedication!

Thanks everyone! I enjoyed my rest, then storms cleared & it had dropped to 70 degrees, couldn't resist getting a quick cooler 3 in! :)

JG- Feeling you on the 70 degree evening run, I certainly do not blame you- nice job!
