Tried to donate blood today, but was turned down because I have low levels of hemoglobin, which is found in iron or some other unnecessary mineral. Of course. So, after spending a pointless hour waiting in line for that, and then riding the stupid evening express bus all over town, I decided to run.
I thought it would be fun to do my extended Lundstrom Park loop backwards, just for some variety, and I figured I couldn't possibly get lost. I mean, I've lived in this town for almost two weeks. I'm practically a local. So I set out to do that, but on my way found this super big hill that I'd never noticed before (the Logan equivalent of the hill the Ellsworths live on) and decided to see where it led. So I set out up it, and when it finally leveled out, it turned out it ended in another hill.. but this one was straight up 90 degrees from the road I was on. No joke. It was a monster. I thought about going up that one too.. but it turned out to be a 50 mile long driveway to some mountain man's house. So I flipped around and headed down some road I didn't know, hoping I'd end up somewhere familiar. Turns out, it led to Lundstrom Park; right where I wanted to be. Brilliant move on the neighborhood's designer's part. But my little detour cost me, cause it was dark by the time I got past the park and I didn't know which road to turn on.. So I decided to just wing it and hope for the best. Luckily for me, all roads in Logan lead to 1600 East, and I found my way home from there. It was a fantastic run. I loved it.
