Never run the 2 mile ever again. Long-Term Running Goals: Run forever. Personal: My mother forced me to start running as a freshman in high school.. and as much as I hate to admit it, I actually ended up liking it. Graduated from Pine View High School in 2013 and, after a yearlong hiatus, I am now running again, this time for USU, where I'm working on a composite Elementary Ed/Deaf Ed major. |

| | Speed workout.. a super fun one! We pretty much sprinted until Coach whistled at us, but there were all kinds of different rules for each one, like you had to catch the person in front of you, or go faster every time he whistled. I missed the first two little things cause I was warming up. Then I joined in and it was wayy fun. I had trouble breathing during the one where we sped up every time he whistled.. but he had just given this speech about finding a new level of hurt, so I forced myself through it. And guess what? I survived. I had to take a smallish break in between the first and second 200s at the end, because I really was just not breathing well at all, but I finished the workout and felt really good about it. | | Add Comment |
| | Green Springs. It was so ridiculously hot today it's not even funny. We made it to the turnaround and I wanted to just lay down on the pavement and die. I was sore from yesterday too.. but in my arms. Yep. I ran so fast my arms are sore. I'm trying to find a way to make that sound cool. Anywho, then we had 4 200s after, and before we started, I thought I might not make it through. But I did. And I stuck right up front with them. And I breathed okay. | | Add Comment |

Region!! (0.5 Miles) 00:02:29, Place overall: 4 | | Heck. Yes. That pretty much sums up my entire racing experience today. I ran the medley 800. And it was super hot. And we didn't have the world's greatest handoff (okay, yeah it was pretty crappy). And I started in second to last. BUT. I didn't start out too fast. So when I started my second lap, I could start passing. I ended up passing 3 girls, and I really tried to get the last 2 but I just couldn't get there. And the Snow Canyon girl ended up passing me ON THE LINE. She beat me by .1 of a second. And I was pretty mad. But when Coach told me I broke 2:30, I was sooo happy. And. We. Qualified. For. State!!!!! So I'm pretty happy with my race today. Which is a nice change. | | Add Comment |

My 800 today wasn't great.. about 3 seconds slower than yesterday. I just didn't feel like I had any energy. I kicked enough at the end to be able to pass a few people and score a point.. but it wasn't anything too special.
The other race was the 4x4, which was a lot more fun. Alyssa kicked everyone's trash in the first leg, and Honeycutt kept us up in the top few. Then I went and I felt really good. A Hurricane girl ended up passing me in the first 100 meters so we were in third.. at the 250ish mark I tried to pass her again, but I didn't have enough energy to keep it up and finish passing her. I ended up running a 1:04.4.. which is 3 seconds faster than the last time I ran the 4x4. Liz did way good too on the last leg, and we ended up taking 3rd and qualifying for state by time and place. Twas pretty exciting. | | Add Comment |
| | Well.. I'm not quite sure if we actually ran 3 miles.. we wanted to get back to camp before the sun went down. But it was way fun, and the sunset was gorgeous. And we did some steep hills and took pictures on top of them (yes, we did have a camera on the run.) It was a good run. (: | | Add Comment |
