PVHS Outstanding Athlete of the Year 2013 Short-Term Running Goals: Get back into shape
Have good indoor/outdoor seasons
Never run the 2 mile ever again. Long-Term Running Goals: Run forever. Personal: My mother forced me to start running as a freshman in high school.. and as much as I hate to admit it, I actually ended up liking it. Graduated from Pine View High School in 2013 and, after a yearlong hiatus, I am now running again, this time for USU, where I'm working on a composite Elementary Ed/Deaf Ed major. |

AM: A really nice run out to Arctic Circle.. it felt really good.
PM: Shoe Run. We took it easier today to recover from the half/keep Liz and Taylor with us. But.. the second part didn't really work. We'll keep trying to get them to come up with us. It was a good run. I wasn't even sore. But I did get a humongous gash on my finger. It was caused by a car hitting me.. in the hand. As I was crossing the street. Or a water buffalo attacking my finger. You choose whichever sounds more exciting. Striders/steps/plyos after. | | Add Comment |

Green Pole. It was a really lovely run, no matter how much I dislike Green Pole. The weather was grand, if a bit chilly, and I felt great. I was a tad sore (don't tell Kaylee.. she thinks I'm immune to soreness) from plyos yesterday, but other than that, I felt fine. | | Add Comment |

AM: A lovely run to -you guessed it- Arctic Circle.
PM: Old Man Hills. 3x(2x200, 1x800). Today was actually one of the best runs I've had in a while. I kinda ate crappy today and wasn't feeling great by the time practice rolled around. Then I remembered we had hills and it made me feel ten times worse. But I was absolutely not going to have ANOTHER bad hill day. So on the way over to the hills, I kinda told myself that I felt fine and I was going to have a good attitude about these. And it worked. They felt great. I stuck in there with Kaylee and Stoner the whole time and felt really good about it. My only complaint was that my left shin is kinda hurting. I'm gonna ice it tonight and hope someone brings their roller tomorrow so I can use it. | | Comments(1) |

AM: Arctic Circle
PM: Green Springs loop. Felt really good. All the girls stuck together, including our little threesies. Kaylee and I planned where she's gonna move by me, Stoner, Liz and Taylor discussed future plans, and Mia and Frida talked about.. being foreign, I guess. My left shin is really hurting. I rolled it this morning, so I'll ice it tonight and see how things go. | | Comments(2) |

AM: Arctic Circle with all the girls.. ten of us! Felt really good and it was fun to have all them out.
PM: Speed workout. 6x800 w/ 2 minute recovery and DI warmup/Harts cool down. Stoner, Frida and I were supposed to be hitting a 3:09ish pace, but we were speedier than that. Our first one was a 3:03 and the next was a 3:05.. and it was faster every time after that. Coach ran with us, which I really liked, cause it felt like he was pushing us and I worked harder to keep up with him. The workout felt fine. It never felt like I was about to die, which is generally how I feel about speed workouts. It just felt controlled and calm, kinda. I had to wear the gigundo watch the last two sets, and I'm pretty sure that added a couple seconds, cause that thing is huge. Anywho. My shin felt better than yesterday, but it still kinda hurt. | | Add Comment |
| | Vernon Worthen/All over the place. Mia and I ran together today, and we started at Vernon Worthen. I turned on the Garmin and we started running.. and promptly succeeded in getting ourselves hopelessly lost. We ran up Main Street, down Telegraph, on the Boulevard, all the way down to Denny's and McDonalds, past a couple yard sales, back up the street, through a parking lot, around the temple and finished with a mile and a half barefoot on the grass at the park. And after all that- the ten mile mark ended up being right at the door of my truck. We did our tempo from like mile 4 to mile 6.8ish. It felt really good.. no complaints here. | | Comments(1) |
