Personal:

My mother forced me to start running as a freshman in high school.. and as much as I hate to admit it, I actually ended up liking it. Graduated from Pine View High School in 2013 and, after a yearlong hiatus, I am now running again, this time for USU, where I'm working on a composite Elementary Ed/Deaf Ed major.

I'm gonna be honest; I didn't get nearly the mileage in I was supposed to today. That 3 is probably a little high, even. Anyway.

The medley wasn't til like noon, so I cheered and sat around a lot. When it finally came time to warm up, I ran around cheering for Katie and Stoner, then did a few more laps and agilities. I was pretty nervous for this race. I knew we wanted to qualify, and I really really didn't want to let the other girls down. Cierra and Katie started it off really well and kept us right in there (which was super impressive of Katie,  cause she had just run a really good 800). Then Janz took off and passed everyone except Aimee, so we were in a really good position when I got the baton.

I wanted to start it off a little bit slower so I could have a good kick at the end. Jackie from Lehi passed me somewhere on the first lap. As I crossed the line after the first lap, I could hear Coach yell 1:11. That was rather quite faster than I had planned, but I knew I had to pick it up now. I remember hearing Coach tell me I needed a 1:15 2nd lap.. and after that I really don't remember thinking much of  anything. I passed both Jackie and the Cedar girl on the last curve, and the only thing in my head was just to hold them off for 100 more meters. Luckily, I did. My split ended up being around 2:23, and our medley time was a 4:23.

Really, words cannot describe how happy I am with this race. I haven't run that fast since sophomore year, and it feels so good. Plus also we qualified for state, so that was a huge plus. (: This kind of race makes me remember why I like track so much.

Sounds like a great race -- congrats!
