Personal:

My mother forced me to start running as a freshman in high school.. and as much as I hate to admit it, I actually ended up liking it. Graduated from Pine View High School in 2013 and, after a yearlong hiatus, I am now running again, this time for USU, where I'm working on a composite Elementary Ed/Deaf Ed major.

Went on about a mile warm up with the girls. I was still feeling sick all morning. I tried to think positively, but I was mentally just done before the gun even went off. Worst 800 ever. Now I really just need to focus toward region if I'm going to qualify for state.

Not so long after that (they got rid of the lunch break), I had the medley 8. Honeycutt and Kayla told me beforehand not to worry a ton about my split, because they knew we wanted to qualify the 4x4 today, which took a lot of pressure off. It was pretty slow, but I tried to surge a little at the end, and I ended up passing a girl.

Then the 4x4. Cierra and I were both pretty tired from the medley, and Cierra didn't even know she was running the 4x4 til right as we were checking in for it, but we were determined to qualify today, even without Janzen. Alyssa started us out strong with a low 1:02, and Cierra got us into a good position (either 3rd or 4th). Then I got the baton and before I even hit the 100, 4 girls passed me. I don't know where they even came from. Then I passed our tent and I heard Coach yelling something or other, and I knew I had to pass them all back. So around the 200 mark, I got around them all and was battling the Dixie girl for 2nd when I passed off to Katie. I then promptly proceeded to get run over by two girls on other teams, but I really didn't even care. I was just watching Katie and the clock. I knew it was going to be close. She came in at 4:11. We got it by 2 seconds! So happy. My split ended up being a 1:03.5, which is my fastest this season, so at least something good happened to me today.
