A really easy, pleasant day today. I found out my marathon plans might be foiled, but I think I'll still be able to do a half. I'll keep training like I'm doing the marathon until I know for sure.

Why no marathon?

We went and bought a house in Kentucky. It was a good deal and on the exact street we were looking for so that Dan can come home after PT and for lunch. The thing is, the house becomes ours at the end of April with Dan not scheduled to come home until the end of August. So I'll be moving out there at some point on my own with nobody to do the daily babysitting I'd need to keep training. Plus I could be a thousand five-hundred miles from Provo on June 12, the day of the race. We're trying to work through scenarios where I can still do the marathon. I also have to factor in a potential major surgery that will take 4 weeks of recovery for my two-year old. I'm just trying to disconnect my heart a little bit from the idea of running this marathon so I'm not too disappointed if it doesn't happen.

Oh, wow. It sounds like you have a busy summer ahead of you. Sally mentioned your toddler's impending surgery. She thinks you should put the surgery off until Dan is home to help out. Or you could do the surgery now and wait to move until Dan gets home? I wouldn't do both before he gets home though, yikes! Its good to stay open to the idea of not doing a marathon every time you intend on doing one, I think. I've now had to pull out of two marathons that I've been registered for and have only raced two marathons, so for me its a 50% chance that I wont race. Injuries get in the way for me, but for you it sounds like life is just getting in the way. Well, just keep running for running's sake and enjoy the moment, eh?
