My Garmin said it was all out of power when I put it on this morning.  I swear I charged it yesterday.  Hopefully nothing is wrong.  Anyway, I have no other watch in my life outside of the Garmin so I went by feel today.  It felt like I did some good work.  I'm doing a 10k this weekend and I'm hoping to figure out what pace I should be doing all of these work-outs at - what a realistic goal marathon time might be.  I'm kinda scared.  Races really scare me.  That's why I usually only do them once every couple of years - well that and because I'm always pregnant.

Great effort today! Are you doing the Rex Lee Run? You have to view races as the reward for all of your hard work instead of the reality of them being extremely hard and painful and challenging.

So I was talking to your SIL Sally last night and she was like, "Nan, remember when I asked you last year if you knew Jessica and Dan Patterson and you didn't think you knew them?" And suddenly it CLICKED (now that I've been in touch with you more in the past few months). OF COURSE I know Jessica DAY Patterson!! Haha small world. We had a good laugh about the connection and what a small world it is in our LDS society. But the funniest part about it all was Sally's reasoning for thinking I knew you: Just because I run and love being outside and so do you, and we kinda look alike and our husbands are both tall and we are the same age. Naturally we MUST know each other! Hahaha

I meant to tell you about that. Isn't that crazy?? I love Sally to death - I got an awfully good family along with Dan.

Yep, I'm doing the Rex E Lee run. I've always wanted one of those t-shirts. And I thank you for the advice at how to look at a race. You are SO right and that could make a big difference in how often I race and how much I enjoy it. Life is ALL about perspective and choosing to have a good one.
