Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

My leg hurt this morning and I did not feel well, so I skipped the run in the cold wind and did some weights/rehab exercises at home.  Will try to get a run in at lunch in the snow.

5 miles at lunch, first snow run of the year.  This run was off from the start.  Felt like I was out of fuel, light headed and had to stop and walk a couple of times. Got it done...maybe should not have started. (Ride 5)

6:30am...6 easy miles with Moxie, lots of other runners out on the Sunnyside path today.  Heading to the Christmas Gift 5K to run to honor our friend Amy. (Guide)

We all went down to participate in the Christmas Gift 5k put on by Gray at Bill's Bike and Run.  Before the event started, I gave a prayer to remember Amy Thorne, had a moment of silence then release purple baloons to memorialize her.  It was a cold and breezy day.  Justin, Matthew and I all took off at the front of the race running at marathon pace.  At mile 1, Justin had a bit of a lead but then his leg started hurting and I pulled ahead.  From 1.25 on, I was running along with Justin and Matthew just behind.  At the finish line I was up by about 10 seconds.  As I turned to the finish, I stopped, kneeled, said a prayer and stepped off the course in memory of Amy Thorne not finishing her race.  Matthew and Justin came through for 1-2.

Stayed around and talked to lots of friends and remembered Amy with all the people runinng in the matching shirts we had made to honor her.  A good day.

Katelyn and I started running home, she ran a mile then caught a ride and I ran another mile home solo.
