Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;
answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me. - Psalm 86:1-7 Favorite Blogs: |

| Hip sore this morning, skipped runnning and stretched and rolled. Extra devotions with the extra time too. Long run at lunch.
8 miles at lunch...nice temps but the air was horrible with the wildfire just outside of town (over 43,000 acres burned so far!). Left leg started off sore. Ran the last couple with DanS. (Fastwitch)
The fire has burned lots of area just east of Idaho Falls, including the area that DanS and I ran on July 22 (Henry's canyon, in fact this is where it started...man caused).
We took Kami to a doc we know to check out her back/leg issue...she has a tear in a disc, causing nerve pain down here leg. Doc thinks therapy and some rest should fix it...good news.
I had talked about going to see her for my hammy isssue, she convinced me to come in and chat about PRP (Platlet rich plasma) therapy. I will see what she has to say.

Mesa Falls Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:24:16, Place overall: 6, Place in age division: 1 | Easy Miles | Marathon Pace Miles | Threshold Miles | VO2 Max Miles | Total Distance | 1.00 | 13.10 | 0.00 | 0.00 | 14.10 |
| Drove up to Ashton, ID starting at 5am to run the Mesa Falls Half. Hung out with Chris, Fran and Roger at the school and on the bus before the start. At the start on the front line was Ryan and Sara Hall, BJ Christensen, me and a few others. My goals for this race: have fun and not have my hammy blow up on me. I took the first half really conservative down the hill and to the campground and back up to the top. Ran with Brandon (great kid, nice to have the company). We hit the halfway point at around 43+ minutes and my hammy was doing good. I could feel it but it was not limiting me. On the rollers I started to pick it up and ran solidly in the 6:00-6:15 pace the rest of the way. I separated from Brandon around mile 10 and kept pushing to finish in just over 1:24 for a negative split on the course. Slower but I will take it on this tough course, no leg issues and had a fun time. I finished behind Sara and Ryan Hall, BJ, Erika (OT steeplechase participant) and one other guy...not bad for a gimpy old guy. Splits: 5:55, 6:18, 6:21, 6:24, 6:43, 7:06, 6:43, 6:12, 6:00, 6:07, 6:22, 6:23, 6;11, 1:20 (0.21M). (Tangent)
Congrats to Gray and Lynette on the win in the full marathon!
