Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6M easy before church in the snow!  Nothing special, just recovery miles.  Legs feeeling good, just a slight twing in the quads still.

6.5M slow easy miles early on a cold morning. Nothing special...man 4:30 is early, why do I do this? (T3)

10K at lunch on a beautiful day...warm, sunny, a little wind.  Total time of 40:00 even.  Splits: 6:32, 6:26, 6:32, 6:15, 6:33, 6:36, 1:10.  Intestinal distress at about mile 4M and found a restroom at 5M mark.  Last 1.2M easy.  Good run...no pain or soreness or fatigue at all.  (T2)

1M with my son after dinner.  He wants to run the 5K on 4th of July with his cousin, so the training begins in earnest (hopefully!).  (Stratos 3)

6.5M early this morning in the cooler weather and a light rain.  Almost went to the gym, but it was actually not bad out during the run.  Left hammy was a bit twingy so I rolled it after the run and it feels a bit better.  Still noticable at work though.  Now that I am at work, it is raining/snowing much worse so a lunch run is in question (I didn't bring winter gear!).  (Stratos 3)

4M easy at lunch in decent weather, a little cool but no wind or rain.  Hammy a little better but I did not push it (no time either), just nice and easy.  (T2)

(35 degrees in shorts!)...shuffle...still asleep...jog...run (kinda)...just get 3M...ok 4M...how about 5M...push to 7M...back home...pit stop...sleep again?....coffee...food...shower...no sleep - work! Argh...Why?  (Stratos 3)

4.25M at lunch at a slow MP (~6:20ish)...no watch just by feel.  Nice and easy and felt really good, hammy good as well.  Ran a little harder to beat the rain even with a bit of intestinal distress.  Good run!  (T2)

Easy 10K early this morning before my wife went to work. Nice and easy in the colder weather (27 degrees, but no wind).  I will try for another run at lunch.  (Stratos 3)

6M at lunch on a pretty nice day...partly sunny and slight breeze. Nice and easy in 40:32, all miles between 6:30-6:55. Noticed left hammy again, nothing bad but could tell it was talking to me. (T2)

6M easy early through Snake River landing like yesterday before Kami had to take off for work.  Slept horribly last night, woke up a lot and kept dreaming about work!  Left hammy still talking to me...still not bad but noticeable.  I might skip the lunch run today...have to head home to have appraiser look at our house for a refi, our new loan is at 4.5%...less than our car loan!  Also check progress of guy putting in our RV pad.   (Stratos 3)

All I had time for after the appraiser's appointment was a quick 5K in 19:13 (MP).  Hope the appraisal comes back ok, housing markets right now are not helping.  (Stratos 3

14.75M hill workout with Dan S. in the foothills of IF.  Started at Dan's house then did a 4.25M loop through the rolling hills of Comora Loma.  Started uphill, then rolling, then down and flat.  Next headed up the road in Blackhawk Estates and beyond for a 4M steady hill climb (in 29:30).  Steady uphill grind against some wind.  Doubled back to catch Dan coming to the top.  Then we returned down the hill to his house.  Left hammy feeling good until about 12M then I noticed it, not bad but it was there so I didn't push it hard on the downhills and just ran an easy MP (6:00ish).  Overall a great run and a good up and down hill workout.  (Stratos 3)

0.5M with my son home from church after helping my wife set up for tomorrow's brunch.
