Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

No morning run this morning, going to the Doc this morning to talk about this "fluttery" feeling and shortness of breath I have been having the past two weeks.

Diagnosis (after and EKG since my BP was 112/64 and HR of 51 and no other indications): Premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) are extra, abnormal heartbeats that begin in one of your heart's two lower pumping chambers (ventricles). These extra beats disrupt your regular heart rhythm, sometimes causing you to feel a flip-flop or skipped beat in your chest.

Due to my physical condition, likely caused by stress or caffeine.  Since my caffeine intake has not changed but my stress the last 3 weeks has, we made the diagnosis that it is stress related.   Remedies:  1) Reduce stressful situations (already in progress to remove the recent stresses from my/our lives); 2) relax (next week…Florida for Spring break and time with a friend, family fun, sun and surf!).   No Beta blockers or calcium channel blockers (good!).

Back to work for a 7 mile run around the greenbelt on a nice day in just under 49 minutes.  I feel better when I am running than when I am sitting around. (Ride 5)

Slept in a bit so I can be prepared for the redeye flight tonight!  After getting kids off to school I ran 7 miles on a cool morning.  All I had time for as this is a busy day with packing/preparation and school/track stuff.  (Mirage Gray)

Redeye flight (which was delayed and we missed our intended connection, luckily one 1.5 hours later) to Orlando.  Kevin met us and we spent the day with him.  Really tired (all of us) so no run, plus it was raining buckets!
