Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Standard early morning run today on a warmer morning (59 degrees).  Nothing special to report, just a slow and easy 7M run.  Looking forward to a 20 miler tomorrow with the IF Group Run folks, it may be a large crowd tomorrow running anywhere from 10-20 miles.

total time: 56:12  (Trigon 2 - 148 miles)

7M around the greenbelt with Dan S on an absolutely beautiful day...~75 degrees with a light breeze and sunny.  Nice conversational pace with Dan who ran well (even if he had "lead" legs today).  Got a bit of heartburn about 5M into the run, must have been the plum crisp that Kami made yesterday which I ate way too much of last night and this morning.

total time: 51:28  (Trigon 1 - 412 miles)

20 MILES!!! - I guess I'm glad I'm not in town, there is NO WAY I'd be able to do that! I'd try the first 6 or so though :).

Have a GREAT party tomorrow afternoon, I hate to miss it - You're almost 40!!!

Thanks! Needing to keep the training going for the Twin Cities marathon. I will be running it with a gal (Andrea) who is training for Chicago.

Wish you guys were in town for the party :( I will have beer for you though!

Good job keeping up your running and weight training in the heat (or at the gym!). See, this is why you guys need to come back to Idaho...summers are great here!

You're lucky to live so close to IP. I spend as much time as I can up there, but the four hour drive and and 4 dollar gas is killing me. The mosquitos have been bad this year in places. At Macks Inn they're terrible. Over on the reservoir they're not so bad. I'l be driving trhough again on Tuesday. When do you hit 40? I've got one week.

I turn 40 on Monday, so we are having a bash this Saturday to celebrate the departure of youth!

We get up to IP a couple of times a year for boating/camping/just a day away.

So what is the official race for the new age group? I smell master's prize money in the air...

Going after a top 10 finish at the US Master's Marathon Championships hosted by the Twin Cities marathon on Oct. 5!

So no St. George the day before as a warm-up? :)...
