Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Standard early morning easy 6M run down Sunnyside.  A bit warmer this morning at near 30 degrees.  Nothing special, just too early to run!  (Trigon)

A quick and short run at lunch today on a nice day...33 degrees, sunny and a slight breeze.  Ran 4M in 25:31 (6:22 pace) which felt controlled and easy.  Nice lunch break today.  (Progrid)

Good run. I bet the muscle worked better today being it was warmer. Has a good rest of the day.

Jeff - I saw your 2010 race plan today. Looks like some fun marathons in the works. If I were you, I would probably not plan on the Great Potato full marathon as you'll be running alone. The half is usually a little more popular and competitive. And if you're all alone chances are you'll get lost - that race is not well marked.

Have you run Portland Marathon before? I'm going to do that one next October. I saw it was one of your possibilities too.

Jeff,

I agree with John about the Great Potato marathon. I ran it a couple years ago and it is poorly marked and you run 3 times on certain spots. Very easy to get lost and run extra.

Thanks for the feedback on the Great potato race, I have heard that and it was not my priority.

I have not run Portland but have been intrigued by it (plus my brother and sister in law are there now). Still not sure which later fall race I will do.
