Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Out the door at 4:20am for a slow easy run.  Temp was 22 at my house (although the bank thermometer said 8 degrees!) with no wind.  I got 7 hours of sleep last night (fell asleep at 9pm!) but I was still tired and it took about 3 miles to wake up and get into the run.  Last 5 miles were better, but it is hard to get moving in the cold at this hour!  Total time of 1:04:55...slow.  (Tornado)

Cloudy but calm at lunch today and about 20 degrees.  1.5M easy with Dan S to start then right into 5x0.5M at goal MP (5:55-6:00) with 0.25M recovery.  1-3:03, 2-3:02, 3-2:57, 4-2:59, 5-3:02.   Cooldown back the building for a total of 6.3M in 42:22 (6:44 avg).  Once I got the proper form (fast TM runs are killing my outside form!), the repeats were easy, but I can tell I need to work on my power.   Overall a good run!  (Trigon)

I'm with Sam; way to get out there in the cold. It always seems to slow me down and makes it take longer and longer to get all the juices flowing...

Solid run; good dedication...

Great runs, I am so ready to be running out side---the TM is getting old at the

Apple, and real old on the long run days

My wife and I are training to run our first Marathon June 6 at the Rock N Roll Marathon San Diego and I do not know what to expect. Like do people wear water belts or is there enough aid stations?

As for my training program i am having a hard time with right now because i am out of town every other weekend and some times a coouple weekends in a row so it does interrupt with the long runs on the weekend.

Any advice Thankyou so much

Marlin

I feel your pain. I have to be at work at 7 am and have a 30 minute commute. So I'm often out the door at 4:30 or 5 am.I'm not one of those people that can roll out of bed, lace on the shoes, and be out the door either.So I have to be up before 4.It's a pain, but sometimes the only option as life has a way of getting in the way later in the day.
