Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

No early AM run today, decided to sleep in a bit and rest my legs.  I will try for a longer run at lunch today (7-10 miles) instead of the beating of the easy/sleepy early run.

10 miles in 1:08 on a glorious day at lunch...sunny, perfect temperature and just enough breeze to cool you down.  1 mile wu, 3 solid miles at slow MP, then easy to the finish to ensure my knee keeps on the mend.  Felt really good for most the run, felt it a couple of times but much better than even yesterday!   Good rest for tomorrow's long hill workout on Sunnyside hill (~18 miler).

Order a new pair of shoes today with a discount I got in the mail, I am going to give the Brooks Launch a try!

I am still trying to get a hang of this blog thing. Can i respond to you, through your comment to me, or do i have to comment on your page for you to see my comment? CONFUSING??? Ya I was not feeling like an early run today, but woke up and felt like I should have went running. But I new I needed the rest. I am shooting for for the first 6 miles around 6-6:15minute pace. and the last 6 or so 5:45-50's. Hopefully finishing in about 1:20s. What do you think? Oct 16th is the big day!

There are several ways to communicate. You can respond/comment on your blog after my comment, you can comment on my blog like you just did, or you can even send a private message with the option at the top of the page!

That would be a smokin' workout, at HM race pace in a training run would be great. This is the right time to hit a run like that, so then are you planning a 20 miler next week? Make sure to get in a long run and practice your fuel/hydration strategy during it so you know how your body will respond at the race.

You definitely deserve a day to sleep in after all the 4 am mornings. Nice run!
