Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

I was planning on hitting the TM at the gym this morning, but when I woke up it was 32 degrees outside!  So, I headed outside in 1 inch of new snow and ran 7M through the rolling hills of Snake River Landing and back.  Due to the snow and slick conditions, it was a slow run but the temp was great and it was better than inside any day.  Tomorrow I will hit the TM for speedwork and hills.  The snow kept packing under my feet and building up in the heel part of my shoes which was annoying and bordering on uncomfortable at times.  (T3)

6.3M at lunch time around the greenbelt in warm weather on a slushy and wet pathway.  Overall average at an easy 6:50 with about one and half miles of pickups at slower MP (6:25-6:10).   I was supposed to be at the site today but when I started the government car up to warm up and to clean of the windows and shut the door, it locked!  So I had to wait about an hour to get a guy over with the spare key to open it, all the while it is sitting out in the parking lot running.  So with that omen and the bad weather, I stayed in town to catch up from being out of the office all last week.  (T2)

Great run. Nice training on the hills to prepare for Boston. Are you going to do a marathon before Boston?

I still have an offer to run Shamrock on Mar. 22 but am leaning against it due to $ and timing. So most likely not any marathon before Boston so I can hit it hard.

hiya, are you not doing any shorter races in the run up to Boston? and well done excellent running, nice weather, I love running in the snow even though you have to go slower and watch your footing, but is it nice once in a while enjoy while you can. Sam

I will most likely run a 10K in March and a half marathon the first weekend of April in prep for Boston. Both of these I will hope to fine tune my speedwork.
