Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Got up at 5:15am (in Orem) so we could make it to the start of Kami's century ride (Wonder Woman all women's ride) in Payson.  Got her off for her 7:30am start and then went for a run up Payson Canyon.  4 miles up, 4 miles back down the another 2 miles on the hills in Payson for 10 miles in 1:06:40.  A good run!

Then I drove out the Goshen to catch Kami at mile 40 of her ride.   Ended up drive up through Goshen Canyon to see her (cool canyon!!).  Then once she was off for her loop (42 to 58 was a big loop back to the lunch stop) I went out for another 5 miles in 35 minutes.  I was chased by 2 ankle biter dogs for about 0.25M and was running a 4:30 mile pace to keep them off my feet.   I spent about 45 minutes with Kami at lunch then she was off.  I saw her again at mile 70 and 77 then went back to Memorial Park in Payson to watch her finish.

I ran 3 miles in 22 minutes then waited for Kami.  Unfortunately I mis read the map and was waiting at the wrong corner for her to come into the park (the riders came in from 2 different directions).  She finished strong riding a true 100 miles at a solo 18 mph speed!

We drove up to SLC and checked into the hotel then had dinner at PF Chang's.  Now to catch up on sleep and get rested after a great day!

Glad you were able to get some miles in, albeit a bit piecemeal. Nothing like some ankle-biter speedwork to get the heart rate up!

Big congrats to Kami on a great race!

Sounds like a successful trip. Big congrats to Kami on an awesome 100.

Saw a pic of Lynette, too- looks like she had a good TOU (pic 51 in the gallery http://www.hjnews.com/photography/2011/09/17/top-of-utah-marathon-2011/
