Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

A great but very hard long run today up in the foothills going to Bone.  A big group today...Marlin, Lynette, Curt, Alana, Lyndsi, Gary, Alicia, Cache and myself (then we saw Mauri up there as well).  This was a tough run on the rollers, on the way out we had a 35mph headwind then had the wind to our backs on the way home which was nice.

9.09 miles out in 1:09 (7:35 average), 8.91 miles back in 1:02 (6:57 average) for 18 miles total in 2:11.  About 4 of the miles coming back I was pushing a bit hard down into MP range.  I also spent a bit of time going back to check on the group and encouraging them during some of the harder sections.  A good character building run for my Boston training with some great friends!

Speaking of Boston, bib numbers are up!  My number is 215!  We should have a great Master's team:

Me 215

Steve A. 257

Walter 233

Good times up there today Jeff. At least it felt good to finish:) What a tough run, glad it was with all of you or I don't think I would have made it.

Nice job Jeff, you did awesome this morning, and thanks for coming back and helping me out when I was in need of it.

Nice LR Jeff! You guys have the master's dream team for Boston... I really think you guys can win it!

Thanks for the encouragement up on the hill today!

Last year 212 oa was a 2:39.43. So all you have to do is beat your 2009 time. Seems like how everything is coming together that will be easy.

From Rye on Sat, Mar 17, 2012 at 16:51:36 from 174.27.82.66

Amen to that. Conditions were tough today! Way to slug it out! Good luck at Boston.... You should catch a Sox game while your there!
