Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

8M on the TM at the gym this morning as it was blowing snow/sleet outside...not happenin'!  2.5M easy (6:40) then the rest of the way around 6:20 except for one 0.5M pickup at 5:30.  Overall felt good, actually better after the run than before.  (Stratos 2)

Supposed to warm up and stop snowing/raining today so I hope to get about 6M in at lunch.  I just checked out the results from the Shamrock Marathon from Sunday, which I almost ran...dang it, dang it!  Master's winner was a 2:46...could have been the Master's winner in a big race (and maybe even top 5!).  Oh well, hindsight is 50/50 (and the pocket book appreciated it) and I gotta remember that Boston is the goal race for this spring.  Shamrock 2010...here I come (and watch some really fast master's show up next year...seems that I run my spring marathons 1 year off either way preventing me from getting a higher placement).

6M at lunch around the greenbelt.  42 degrees, cloudy and about 13mph wind...ok day for running.  Nice easy run at avg. 6:54 pace, left hammy a bit sore so I didn't push anything.  I tried to focus on running with more toe-off and no worries about turnover rate and when it hit, my effort was easy and the pace was good.  (T2)

Jeff, yea I know I am crazy but I just HATE the treadmill. One of these days I am going to have to join you guys for a lunch run. I was driving to Rexburg last Monday and saw you running across the Snake river bridge around 11:30am and I was jealous. I am in IF a couple times a week.

Do you know how cool it would be to someone run 14 miles on an TM at a 6:20 pace? I bet everyone at the gym was thinking, "Is this guy for REAL?"

Great workout!

Nice workouts Jeff. I can't wait to see how you will do in Boston. Your going to explode out of the corral. Our you shooting for a 2:35?

OK Jeff...so what's the deal? I come to Idaho Falls today and there is NO SNOW!!! In Pocatello the weather was horrible and just 50 miles north it is fine. NO FAIR!!!

From jtshad on Mon, Mar 23, 2009 at 16:59:48 from 204.134.132.225

Bill, you mean IF actually had better weather than Poky...that is strange (na-na-na-na!).

Kory, my goals for Boston: A - 2:35, B - 2:37, C - 2:40.
