Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

7M on the TM at the gym this morning.  2M easy, then fartleks the rest of the way with a base pace of 6:05, pickups between 5:00-5:45 pace.  Overall an ok run.  Had a bit of a hip twing about 0.5M into the run, but it went away quickly.   Got home and had to shovel about 2-3 inches of snow off the driveway.

What a game last night...how Eli got out of that sack and then for Tyree to make such a fantastic catch.  The Giants put the hurt on the Patriots.

total time: 43:30 (Saucony Trigon - 310 miles)

6.1M at lunchtime around the greenbelt.  The city had plowed the pathway which was really nice, but is was still snowcovered and a bit slick at the temperature is warming up (32 degrees) with a pretty good wind from the south.  But, it was gloriously sunny and bright!  Good easy paced run.

total time:  43:47 (Saucony T2 - 305 miles)

I was happy that the Giants won. They are plucky. It was a great game.

Probably the best play in a Super Bowl since Elway's helicopter against the Packers (sorry Paul).

Nice run.

Really if you look at all aspects of the game the Giants outplayed the Patriots. The Giants had more missed scoring opportunities than the Patriots did so they really so have won by more. Eli's offensive line outplayed the Patriots offensive line. The Giants sacked Brady five times which was the most for him in one game this year. The Giants Defense really held the Patriots from producing any big plays especially to Randy Moss.

Luck wasn't involved in this game, the Giants just flat-out beat the Patriots.

Thanks for the words of encouragement the last few weeks with my hammy issue. And yes, it was a great football game last night (the 4th quarter at least).

Do you have any races coming up?

From jtshad on Mon, Feb 04, 2008 at 11:53:12

The Relay Del Sol with the FRB/SGRC team the end of Feb. in Arizona and then a local 10K in March followed most likely by the SLC marathon on April 19.
